SaGa: Scarlet Grace Trailer Shows Us Its Heroes, Exploration, And Battle System

Square Enix shared a new video for their upcoming PS Vita RPG, SaGa: Scarlet Grace with a game systems overview, including a look at its key characters, world exploration, battles, and more.

The video starts out with a look at the protagonists, followed by a world exploration section that shows the characters travel across various types of terrain across the world. In addition to all the monsters and dungeons you’ll encounter, a lot of things such as allies you make will vary quite a bit from player to player.

We then get to see more on the game’s battle system at around the middle part of the video. SaGa: Scarlet Grace uses a “Timeline System,” where you can see the order of ally and enemy actions on the bottom of the screen to strategize your best move.

By using BP you’ll use various skills and spells. With plenty of abilities and actions to learn from the series’ familiar “Flash, you’ll learn moves in the midst of action after pulling off skills, so your characters will also be quite different depending on play style and moves learned compared to what you might see from other players as well.

And finally, the video shows off miscellaneous features such as tips to help throughout gameplay, formations that include 20 different options to change up battle styles, a rank up growth system for enhancing skills and spells, and more.

SaGa: Scarlet Grace releases in Japan on December 15, 2016 for PlayStation Vita.
