Kung Fu And Ninja Games Dominate North America’s Wii U Virtual Console

This week on the North American Virtual Console, it seems to be all about martial arts. Three Culture Brain NES games have come to the Nintendo Wii U eShop. People will be able to pick up Flying Warriors, Kung-Fu Heroes, and Little Ninja Brothers.

Flying Warriors originally appeared on the NES in North America in 1991 and is part of the Hiryu no Ken, Fist of the Flying Dragon, series. Ryuhi’s master, Juan, had his Hiryu-no-Ken scrolls stolen by Tusk Soldiers. After years spent training, Ryuhi heads to the World Tournament of Contact Sports to confront them and avenge his fallen teacher. It is $4.99 on the Nintendo Wii U eShop.

 

Kung-Fu Heroes debuted on the NES in North America back in 1989. It’s the first console installment in the Ninja Boy series. Players follow Jacky and Lee, either alone or with a friend in the two-player mode, as they go from room to room, beating up enemies, reclaiming 10 stolen treasures, and saving Princess Min-Min. It is $4.99 on the Nintendo Wii U eShop.

 

Little Ninja Brothers was released on the NES in North America in 1990 and is the second Ninja Boy game. Blu Boltar and the Yoma Clan have invaded Chinaland, leaving Jack and Ryu to fight to save the kingdom. This installment is the first in the series to include RPG elements, like towns, levels, and purchaseable items. It is $4.99 on the Nintendo Wii U eShop.
