The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is getting two add-ons, and Nintendo has just offered details on what to expect in the first one. The Master Trials will arrive in Summer 2017 on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Wii U. This adds two new modes, the equivalent of the Cave of Trials Challenge, and new pieces of equipment to aid Link on his way.

The Master Trials gets its name from The Trial of the Sword. This is a new location with 45 rooms. Link has no equipment when he enters and must continue to defeat enemies to proceed. Completing this Cave of Trials Challenge will make the Master Sword permanently powered-up and glowing.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s two modes bring back something old and adds something new. Hard Mode returns. This mode will feature stronger and more aware enemies that can gradually regenerate their health and appear at higher ranks. There will also be floating platforms in this mode, which include more treasures and opponents if you get up there. Hero’s Path lets you see your path through Hyrule over the last 200 hours and works retroactively. You can use this to see where you have and haven’t been.

Finally, some of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s new items and equipment have been announced. The Master Trials will bring with it a Korok Mask for Link to wear. When it shakes, a Korok is eary. There will also be a Travel Medallion in some chest, which can be used to create a temporary travel point that you can fast travel to at any time while it is active. There will also be eight pieces of equipment. A Tingle costume has been revealed, and other pieces inspired by Midna, Majora’s Mask, and Phantom will be available.
