Japanese indie game dev //commentout has been working on a “hardcore action game” called The Tower of Permanence for PS4, Switch, and smartphones. Here’s the latest look at the tower-climber action.
The Tower of Permanence is a pixel art platformer that will have you climb up a tower filled with all kinds of traps and enemies. Everything in the tower is procedurally generated, meaning you’ll see a different tower everyday.
Players can compete in high scores for the newly-generated tower each day, and there’s even a feature that we’ve seen in dungeon crawlers and other games where players can leave dying messages on their graves for other players to see.
The Tower of Permanence releases in 2018 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android. //commentout will showcase more of the game at Tokyo Sand Box 2018 from April 14-15.
