Pokémon Company Highlights More On Pokémon GO, Let’s Go, And Quest In Conference Recording

Pokémon Quest, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, and a new project to come out in 2019 was revealed today, and the Pokémon Company later released the full press conference recording, that reveals more about the games.

Here are the highlights:

• Pokemon GO downloads have reached 800 million downloads.

• Pokemon Quest is Game Freak’s first foray into Pokemon spinoff games. (Spinoffs are usually developed by other studios)

• The voxel forms of Pokémon are called Poké Cells.

• The development team wanted to make Pokémon catching the centre of gameplay, so the smartphone controls were used as a base because they were intuitive. It allows people of all ages worldwide play intuitively.

• The idea is to combine the appeal of Pokemon GO with the functionality of Pokemon on Nintendo Switch for new players, as well as a fresh experience for veterans.

• Pokemon Yellow was chosen as a base because they were inspired by how it originally was made to appeal even more to kids by incorporating elements from the anime.

• All Pokemon can follow you, some Pokemon find items, and you can ride some as well.

• You can do an underhand toss or even a side throw depending on how you flick the joy con.

• The second player is activated by shaking the second Joy-Con, and gives benefits when catching and battling. The second player has their own avatar on the field.

• You can bring over Kanto region Pokemon to Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee
  from Pokemon GO. These include Alolan form Kanto Pokémon, like Alolan Exeggutor. There are other unannounced connectivity features.

• Pokémon Quest will be available on smartphones in late June.

Pokémon Quest is available in the eShop for the Nintendo Switch and will come to Android and Apple iOS devices in late June. Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! will come to the Nintendo Switch on November 16, 2018. A new core game is also coming in 2019.
