Ghost of Tsushima is a period piece. When people step into Jin Sakai’s shoes, they will be experiencing the first Mongol invasion of Japan through his eyes. To show how Sucker Punch is going to make this samurai action game feel true-to-life, a video focusing on recreating 13th century Japan in the game has been released.

Nate Fox, Sucker Punch’s Creative Director, spends just over a minute looking at Ghost of Tsushima’s setting and historical elements in the making of video. The actual Battle of Tsushima took place on Tsushima Island, after the Mongolian army attacked in October 1274.

Ghost of Tsushima is in development for the PlayStation 4. Players who prefer Japanese voiceovers will have that option.
