In the first week of September 2018, volume 90 of the One Piece manga had information in it stating that One Piece: World Seeker, an open world entry in the series, was delayed until 2019. Now, Bandai Namco has confirmed the delay. The game was originally expected to appear in 2018.

In the official announcement, Bandai Namco Chief Producer Koji Nakajima offered an explanation for the delay. Nakajima stated, “One Piece World Seeker is the most ambitious One Piece game ever. We’re aware of the huge potential for the game and want to ensure we match fans’ expectations. As such, we took the difficult decision to move the release date and use additional development time to create the best game possible.”

Fortunately, people will still have a chance to see new One Piece: World Seeker footage and gameplay soon. Bandai Namco confirmed the game will be a part of its 2018 Tokyo Game Show lineup. A playable demo will be at its booth and a trailer will be shown.

One Piece: World Seeker is currently in development for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
