Splatoon 2 Hello Kitty-Themed Plushes Make Pearl And Marina More Pastel

People who either have an opportunity to visit a Sega Center in Japan or keep an eye out on sites online for catcher prizes may want to keep an eye out for the latest Splatoon 2 merchandise. Sega has revealed a pair of Splatoon 2 Hello Kitty-themed toys. They are new versions of Pearl and Marina plushies that will appear in machines beginning February 7, 2019. (Thanks, Japanese Nintendo!)

The Splatoon 2 Hello Kitty versions of Pearl and Marina aren’t exactly cosplay. Rather, the two look a little more pastel and adorable than usual. In addition, Pearl has a red Hello Kitty bow, while Marina wears the yellow Mimmy bow. (Mimmy is Hello Kitty’s twin sister.) Both characters wear the bows on the same side as the cats do.

This is not the first time Splatoon 2 and Sanrio have crossed over. In May 2018, there was an in-game series of Splatfests involving which Sanrio character was the best. (My Melody won, in case you missed it.) Then, in July 2018, the Splatoon 2 Sanrio collaboration took first place in the 2018 Sanrio Character Ranking’s Collaboration division.

Splatoon 2 is available for the Nintendo Switch.
