The death screen animation and the accompanying kanji for death is probably something that most players are familiar with, thanks to the grueling difficulty that ultimately is refreshing when you overcome it. Some fans of the game have been busy creating amusing mods for the death screen that more accurately portray a player’s feelings during death, or just a quick laugh at your own failure, if you like that more.
Many of them have been created by Chinese and Japanese players, who have been busy coming up with various Chinese characters to substitute the character for death. Check out our favorites below:

This is a joke off the Chinese internet slang, 菜鳥, from Taiwan. Basically, it calls you out for being what you are.
‘Warota’
Basically the Japanese symbol for laughing.

A reference to the anime, Ninja Slayer.
