Another update on the upcoming Celeste DLC has been released by Matt Makes Games. The add-on, which will be something of a free “thank you” to players, will not be released in April 2019. While a release window was not offered in the update provided on Twitter, it did have an optimistic note saying that said, “hopefully it won’t be much longer.”
The Twitter update also noted that this DLC is why people have not yet seen physical copies of Celeste appear. The goal is to not release them until Chapter 9: Farewell is done. Hopefully, this would mean that add-on would be included on the cartridges and discs.
The last major details on this free Celeste DLC were released by Matt Thorson back in January 2019. He confirmed it would be a hard chapter that will have no strawberries to collect or B-Side to explore. It will also tweak gameplay a bit, adding new mechanic and items for Celeste to use.
Celeste is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
