Detective Pikachu Art Book Will Be Released On May 21, 2019

The official Pokemon Twitter account has revealed that an art book dedicated to a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Detective Pikachu is in the works. On May 21, 2019 in North America, The Art and Making of Pokemon Detective Pikachu will be released. It is written by Simon Ward.

 

An Amazon product page is live for The Art and Making of Pokemon Detective Pikachu. The 200-page hardcover book’s normal price will be $85. (Amazon is currently taking preorders and selling it for $59.50.)

In addition, another new Detective Pikachu promotional clip has been shared. While it is mostly involves Ryan Reynolds, the voice of Detective Pikachu, at the 39 second mark we see how motion capture translated his facial expressions to an in-progress Pikachu model.

 

 

Detective Pikachu will appear on theaters on May 10, 2019. The Art and Making of Pokemon Detective Pikachu will be released on May 21, 2019. The graphic novel adaptation will arrive in Summer 2019. The video game that inspired it all is available worldwide on the Nintendo 3DS.
