Sony Interactive Entertainment is getting ready to test an update to the Party function on PS4 with a preview program that’ll allow selected participants to check out what’s new.
Those who are selected can expected to see the following updates to Party:
- Increased maximum Party participants from 8 to 16
- Improved audio quality for voice chat
- Improved network connectivity
Keep in mind that those participating in the Preview Program won’t be able to join the same Party or use Share Play with others who aren’t participating in the program. However, those selected will receive a preview code that can be redeemed by 20 different accounts so they can be shared with friends.
Additionally, a new Chat Transcription feature will be available to those in North America. This feature can have Party voice chat converted to text or have text you enter read aloud to other party members. The feature will only be available in English for now on iOS and Android devices.
You can register for the software beta program in North America and Japan. It is expected to arrive in Europe soon.
