Back in May 2019,  Frontwing offered a Sharin no Kuni: The Girl Among the Sunflowers Kickstarter update that noted the PlayStation Vita version would be getting a new publisher and the PC version had some issues due to the game’s age, but was in the final debugging stages. Now, a new update has named its new handheld publisher and confirmed another PC delay. Eastasiasoft will handle the Sharin no Kuni PlayStation Vita release, and the PC version now has a Fall 2019 release window.

The reason for the switch in publishers from Limited Run Games to Eastasiasoft was described as a result of the North American PlayStation Vita cartridge production period ending. Frontwing noted that Limited Run Games introduced them to Eastasiasoft and thanked the company for its help. While the PlayStation Vita version’s development finished and it is in production, this change does mean the production schedule will be changed. It does not yet have a release window.

As for the Sharin no Kuni PC release, a “serious problem” appeared. Frontwing knows what happened and how to fix it, but it does mean that more debugging time will be needed to ensure it is proper working order. This means it has not been submitted to Steam yet and its new release window is early Fall 2019.

Sharin no Kuni: The Girl Among the Sunflowers is immediately available on the PC, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 in Japan. The English PC release has a tentative Fall 2019 release window, while the PlayStation Vita version’s release window has not been announced. The Sharin no Kuni Kickstarter raised $188,176 from 2,427 people and ended on December 22, 2016.
