Pokemon Sword And Shield Will Handle Its Online Battles Outside Of Pokemon Global Link, With Pokemon Home Replacing Other Functions

Recommended Videos

People intending to get competitive with Pokemon Sword and Shield won’t have to worry about registering with Pokemon Global Link. There will be no need for Any game syncing. In addition, Pokemon Home will be handling some of the announcements and stat-checking duties that PGL formerly performed.

The announcement was made via the official PGL website. While Pokemon Sword and Shield will have Rating Battles and Online Competitions, people won’t  need to make an account and sync with PGL to take part. They will just need to be Nintendo Switch Online members who opt to take part through the game itself.

However, three services will be handled by Pokemon Home, the new service that will launch on mobile devices in early 2020. People who download that app will be able to check out Distribution Regulations, check out the Events calendar, and see what the Rankings look like for different sorts of battles.

Pokémon Sword & Shield releases for Nintendo Switch on November 15, 2019. In the latest trailer, the town where Professor Magnolia’s Pokemon Research Lab is located was shown off.
