A Catherine: Full Body Switch Demo Is Planned

It looks like people will have a chance to try Catherine: Full Body before they buy the latest port of it. Atlus’ Japanese website for the game has confirmed that a Catherine Switch demo is in the works. A release date hasn’t been set for it yet, and Atlus didn’t mention what it will consist of. [Thanks, Reddit!]

It is quite possible that the Catherine Switch demo will be identical to the already available PlayStation 4 Catherine: Full Body demo. That version allowed people to go through the first parts of the game, so people could meet Vincent, Catherine, Katherine, and Rin, choose a voice actress for Katherine, climb one tower, and also experience a brief time-skip to see a suspicious interaction between Vincent and Rin.

In addition to the confirmation that a trial is on the way, the Japanese site offered some additional details about compatibility and features. For one, Catherine: Full Body will be playable on both a standard Switch or Switch Light. In either case, it’ll be an 11.4GB download. A Nintendo Switch Online subscription will be required for online multiplayer, though local multiplayer will be available as well. It is completely Joy-Con compatible, so someone who has a standard Switch, which comes with two Joy-Cons, can hand the second one to a friend nearby. While the PlayStation 4 and Vita versions were cross-play and cross-save compatible, that is not possible for the Nintendo Switch version.

The Catherine: Full Body Nintendo Switch port will arrive in Japan on July 2, 2020 and in North America and Europe on July 7, 2020. People can find it on the PlayStation 4 worldwide, though the PlayStation Vita version never left Japan.
