Gremory Games announced that it will shut down the Japanese version of Action Taimanin on July 27, 2021. Japanese players are also encouraged to transfer their accounts to the global server, as the company decided to focus on the latter entirely. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
Following this announcement, Gremory will no longer adds new content updates to the Japanese client. It is now offering applications for players in Japan to move their data. The transfer will start taking effect when the global version app launches in Japanese app stores on May 4, 2021. Those who have still yet to transfer by that date can still apply for immediate migration until the Japanese server is completely deactivated.
It is common to see mobile games having different servers between Japan and the rest of the world. While we have seen more frequent cases of companies shutting down global servers while still retaining the Japanese server (as with the case of Magia Record), the more desirable server merges also exist. A similar case is set to happen on KLab’s Love Live! School Idol Festival, which will see the global English client merge with the Japanese server in June 2021.
Action Taimanin first launched on Android and iOS mobile devices in Japan in September 2019. A global release that included a PC Steam version came out in October 2020. Gremory will focus on maintaining the game’s global client.
