Animal Crossing New Horizons Insect Nerf Spawn Rate

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bugs Nerfed by 1.2 Patch

Updates have come with Animal Crossing: New Horizon‘s 1.2 patch, and with those updates have come nerfs. As posted by Twitter user and dataminer Ninji, the spawn rates for Animal Crossing: New Horizons bugs have been changed. But with this adjustment, some bug rates have been reduced drastically. Peacock butterflies have been hit pretty hard, with their spawn rate being cut by 80-90%. However, what may impact players the most is the reduced spawn rate for tarantulas and scorpions. [Thanks, Ninji!]

Ninji also posted a link to the raw datamine regarding these adjusted insect spawns. This chart forecasts the current spawn rate for Animal Crossing: New Horizons bugs up until December 2020. For now, these numbers are what players are going to be looking at going forward, unless Nintendo plans to adjust the spawn rates once again.

This isn’t the only nerf to hit Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It was also recently reported that interest rates had been lowered. However, with this most recent update, new content has been added to the game as well. This includes Leif spawning on your island for the Earth Day celebration event and with his shop in general and Redd finally making his appearance. With the inclusion of that sneaky fox, players can buy paintings from him to fill out the art display in their museum–granted they buy an original and not a replica.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available for the Nintendo Switch.
