Capcom Reported Strong Digital Sales in Financial Report

Capcom released its consolidated financial report for its third quarter, revealing that digital sales have bolstered the company’s profits. As of December 31, 2021, net sales for Capcom rose by 35.9%. Additionally, operating income for the company increased by 43.9% during its third quarter. Capcom largely attributed this success to digital sales, which have seen solid growth. Resident Evil Village and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin are explicitly mentioned within the financial report. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

During this period, sales for video games exceeded 25.8 million units. Additionally, due to other endeavors, Capcom reached its highest net sales and highest level of all profit items at the end of a third quarter within the company’s history. For this reason, Capcom decided to keep its business forecast the same.

Among the titles that contributed to Capcom’s continued success is Resident Evil 7, which surpassed 10 million units in sales in October 2021. The company also noted that its appearances at award shows stimulated growth for its titles. These includes Resident Evil Village and Monster Hunter Rise getting nominations and accolades. In addition, Capcom stated that its mobile division also contributed in generating profits for the company. The Capcom financial report also mentioned endeavors in other sectors, such as the release of Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City and its eSports division.
