At least one retailer is pumping the breaks on the DiRT 4 price tag on its release week in North America for the PS4 and Xbox One. Thank Amazon for what appears to be a random price drop to $49 on the Xbox One copy and $48.13 to the PS4 copy from its original list price of $60. This means you can enjoy release week discount without needing Amazon Prime or Best Buy GCU.
The price tomfoolery (while not dirt cheap, we just wanted to make a pun), doesn’t appear to be related to reception to the game as reviews from both users and critics appears to be positive for Codemaster’s latest, so we’re filing this as Amazon price robot going haywire. In fact, earlier this week we spotted the PS4 version as low as $40 for a brief time.
The PC copy of DiRT 4 is on sale as well and received a surprise early release on Steam today, with the best deal from authorized retailer GMG by 22% off. Even though the game is released, it appears you’ll still be able to receive the pre-order bonus of the Hyundai R5 rally car, which should no longer be available after Friday this week.
