Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii made an appearance on Nippon TV’s News Zero, where he announced that a Dragon Quest 3DCG movie is in the works, and it’ll be based on the story of Dragon Quest V.
Update: Title officially announced as Dragon Quest: Your Story. It’ll also have music by Koichi Sugiyama, and it got a release date of August 2, 2019.
The director of the movie is Takashi Yamazaki, who directed numerous films including the 3DCG film Stand by Me Doraemon. The film will tell the story of three generations of the hero, father, and son we saw in the game. There will also be Slimes in the movie.
The Dragon Quest 3DCG movie is expected to launch in Japan in Summer 2019. More information will be revealed in the near future.
