eShop Credit Card Issue Fixed With Switch Firmware Update

An eShop credit card issue has been resolved with the latest Nintendo Switch firmware update. People who head to their console will find version 10.0.4 ready to go as of the evening of June 4, 2020. Once they grab and apply it, they’ll find one important bug has been squashed. Finally, people who kept seeing an eShop problem where credit cards weren’t working will hopefully be able to add a card or funds.

This eShop credit card issue wasn’t happening everywhere, so people might not have noticed. Especially since it also seemed to only affect newly added cards and not existing information. Still, the problem was keeping people from being able to make purchases as usual, and now the update has gotten things working again.

Ver. 10.0.4 (Released June 4, 2020)

Fixed the following issue:

We have fixed the issue where it was not possible in some countries or regions to add funds using a new credit card or to register credit card information in Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch.

Previous Nintendo Switch firmware updates did things like add button mapping options, give people a way to transfer data from the microSD card to the system and vice versa, and deal with Pro Controller analog stick drift.
