The attraction will take place inside a parked ambulance. The staff will give the participant a Camera Obscura modeled after the one from the game series. Participants can actually use the camera to take a portrait of the ghost that will appear during the show. They can also take the portrait with them after attending the attraction.

The Fatal Frame horror attraction will be available on the rooftop of Yomiuri Land’s Hana Biyori parking facility. The first session will run on December 18-19, 2021, from 11:00 to 20:30 JST.

While the organizers also plan to hold a second session for the show, they have yet to confirm the dates. In the meantime, Kowaragasetai will use the same ambulance to stage another horror attraction based on School Days in Akihabara from Christmas Eve 2021 to January 2022.

To celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary, Koei Tecmo released a remaster of the Wii U game Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in October 2021. The company is also still working on a movie adaptation of the franchise. However, it currently has no plans to release a remastered collection of earlier Fatal Frame games.
