FFXIV PvP Toxic Behavior

FFXIV Players Could Get Suspended or Banned for Toxic Behavior in PvP

Final Fantasy XIV Producer Naoki Yoshida released a statement addressing toxic behavior observed in PvP. While Yoshida thanks players for their interest in the Crystalline Conflict PvP mode, he states that this warning against toxic behavior applies to all PvP modes in FFXIV. First, he addresses “uncooperative” or “lethargic behavior.” This is when a player chooses to no longer participate by idling while the PvP match is still going on. The second issue he addresses is using quick chat phrases to “taunt” or using emotes repeated on top of a downed opponent. The official statement provides a more extensive list of prohibited behaviors.

Yoshida also states that those who continue to violate the rules and exhibit toxic behavior in any of FFXIV‘s PvP modes can potentially get their accounts suspended or banned. The statement goes through how reports are handled and what puts a case forward for action to be taken against a user. While the statement does provide a list of behaviors players should generally avoid, Yoshida mentions that intent and how your actions are received by the players around you are equally important.

Additionally, Yoshida reveals that the development team will be working hard to balance PvP in FFXIV in order to make it a more enjoyable and exciting experience for users.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
