Final Fantasy XI Journal: My time in Vana’diel was serialized on the Famitsu website approximately 20 years ago, and it quickly garnered a lot of popularity. The new e-book edition includes a series of four-panel comics by manga artist Takayuki Mizushina, alongside the 20th issue of the serialization, which was omitted from the original paperback version.

The diary begins from the moment the player logs into the net, and it covers a wide array of topics that were very present during the beginning FFXI, such as the basics of adventuring, game slang and etiquette, among others.

The book is written from the perspective of a beginner in the world of Vana’diel, so that people that are unaware of the MMORPG’s origins and its internet culture can see how the environment has changed since the beginning of its serialization, and to serve as a reminder of those days.

The Final Fantasy XI play diary is available now for pre-order from Amazon Japan. Final Fantasy XI is available for Windows PC, and Chapter 10 of the The Voracious Resurgence storyline went live in January 2023.
