The Fortnite x My Hero Academia crossover was also teased in the launch trailer for Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 4 Season 1, which aired on December 4, 2022. The chapter continues the expanding meta-story of Fortnite as a whole. It also teased crossovers with a variety of popular properties, like Doom and The Witcher.

The end of Fortnite Chapter 3 saw the character The Paradigm rearranging the game’s island yet again, adding new locations and remixing old ones. The launch trailer emphasizes the addition of agile motocross bikes, pilotable drones, and snow-based play mechanics. The Doom Slayer and Geralt of Rivia also appear. The trailer ends with a Fortnite rendition of My Hero Academia star Izuku “Deku” Midoriya jumping and delivering a powerful smash attack. He punches the air, sending out a shockwave that demolishes a castle tower while other players are still inside.

The crossover renders Deku wearing his “Delta” costume variant. The Delta costume features long gauntlets to protect Deku’s arms, capped by “Air Force” gloves that enable longer-range attacks. Leg supports and “Iron Sole” shoe accessories support Deku when he uses  leg supports to brace Deku when he uses his kicking-oriented “Shoot Style” combat form.

The Fortnite and My Hero Academia crossover begins on December 16, 2022. Fortnite is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via the Epic Games Store. The anime series is currently in its 6th season, and is airing on various streaming services, including Crunchyroll and Netflix. The manga is published in English by Viz Media. Another My Hero Academia-themed battle royal game is My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble, which is in testing.
