Are you still looking for a Nintendo Switch this summer? Can’t stand paying for scalper pricing on eBay or Craigslist? The good news is GameStop has four Nintendo Switch bundles available for purchase – and they will be shipping as early as August 1st.
The caveat, of course, is that you’ll need to purchase these Nintendo Switch in bundled package with extra games or accessories that you might not otherwise be interested in. As of writing, Gamestop is offering four bundles, all at $399.99 each. You’ll find a Nintendo Switch Neon Joy-Con Zelda Bundle, Gray Joy-Con Splatoon bundle, Gray Joy-Con Zelda “Game Night” Bundle, and finally a Gray Joy-Con Mario Kart Monopoly Gamer Bundle.
Update: The bundles have changed yet again, with GameStop now offering $359.99 bundles instead of a $399.99 bundle for the Splatoon and Zelda offerings – a much lower barrier in our opinion. They’ve also added in a $359.99 Mario Kart 8 bundle so we now have five bundles instead of four.
Nintendo Switch In-Stock Bundles at GameStop
If the last two bundles listed above have your head scratching, you’re not alone. Yup, Gamestop is bundling board games at list price with these Nintendo Switch and to be honest, we’ll avoid the last two board game bundles unless you absolutely must have a Switch and the two other bundles are sold out.
Here’s what’s included in each bundle:
- Neon Joy-Con Zelda Bundle: Switch Console + Neon Joy-Con; The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Physical Game);
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass (Digital Download); and Has Been Heroes (Digital Game).
- Gray Joy-Con Splatoon Bundle: Switch Console + Gray Joy-Con; Splatoon 2 (Physical Game);
Snipperclips, and a Splatoon 2 Travel Case for your Nintendo Switch
- Gray Joy-Con Zelda Game Night Bundle: Switch Console + Gray Joy-Con; The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Physical Game); The Legend of Zelda Clue (yes really).
- Gray Joy-Con Zelda Mario Kart Monopoly Gamer Bundle: Switch Console + Gray Joy-Con; Mario Kart 8 (Physical Game); Monopoly Gamer Collector’s Edition (yes really).
As mentioned, the Switch bundles with the board games are best to avoid, as they are being priced at list price and honestly you can frequently find them significantly cheaper elsewhere (e.g. Amazon). Our pick would be either the Zelda Bundle with the Expansion Pass and Has Been Heroes, or the Splatoon 2 bundle with the game – although the travel case is probably not a real big deal.
These bundles pre-order purchases are for Nintendo Switch consoles being made available to GameStop on August 4th (as per their “release date” on each product page) – and they are slated to be shipped by August 1st, which depending on where you live, can get a Nintendo Switch to your hand by next week.
While we’re not fans of excessive bundles, this is a lot more reasonable than what we’ve seen GameStop done in the past (particularly with the Wii or PSVR). And at the end of the day, you’re paying for $400 worth of items, vs the scalper pricing of $385 to $400 for just the console.
