Once in a blue moon, nationwide gaming retailer GameStop will run large promotions on their large backlog of pre-owned video game products. This weekend is one such instance as GameStop looks to clear out overstocked pre-owned games, console, and even “retro” machines such as the N64, Gamecube, and much more.
Running through Monday, October 1st, you can now buy two pre-owned item at GameStop and get one free. The offer is fairly straightforward in that the free games or accessories must be the same or lower value of the two items purchased. Beyond those older game titles, you’ll find everything from 5th and 67th generation era, to latest games and surprisingly, even pre-owned Nintendo Switch games will qualify for this offer.

If you check out the list, GameStop is currently offering 16 Nintendo Switch games with a pre-owned discount of $5 to $10 depending on the title (most of the AAA $60 games are simply reduced by $5). This means you can now pick up Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, and one more must-have Switch title (Breath of the Wild anyone?) for $110 before tax. That comes out to about $36 per game or a 38% off savings just by going used. That’s not too bad in our opinion.
For most items, you’ll be able to use GameStop promo code FREESHIPPING during checkout to get, well, free shipping. While the popular CAG16 code for 16% off used games will work individually, it won’t stack with the “Buy 2 Get 1 Free” promotion.
