Get Assassin’s Creed Discovery Tours Free From Ubisoft

Assassin's Creed Discovery Tours

Ubisoft is making the Assassin’s Creed Discovery Tours free-to-keep for a limited time on PC, giving players a taste of the ancient world on the cheap. The giveaways come as part of Ubisoft’s “Play Apart Together” initiative. The promo was inspired by worldwide stay-at-home measures enacted to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

What exactly are Assassin’s Creed Discovery Tours? They’re basically special education-focused game modes added to 2017’s Assassin’s Creed: Origins and 2018’s Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. The Discovery Tours cut out the combat and narrative elements of the main games and allow players to explore the expansive game world, taking tours and seeing special content based on the research that informed the creation of the Assassin’s Creed titles.

Both tours can be acquired by visiting Ubisoft’s free events page before May 21, 2020. Players with a Uplay account (or who sign up for one for free), can redeem a copy of Discovery Tour: Ancient Egypt and Discovery Tour: Ancient Greece on PC. The redeemed copies will be theirs to keep.

Discovery Tour: Ancient Egypt focuses on free exploration and learning in Egypt of the late Ptolemaic era (about 70 BCE). Players can take 75 interactive tours highlighting major landmarks, and historical details. Check out a trailer for the mode below:

Discovery Tour: Ancient Greece reaches back further, to the Greek archipelago around the time of the Peloponnesian War (about 430 BCE) and organizes its tours around thematic topics for a better sense of focus. This iteration of the Assassin’s Creed Discovery Tours also adds more (non-violent, non-narrative) gameplay elements, such as unlockable mounts for travel, avatars, and interactions with “tour guide” characters.

The Discovery Tour promo lasts until May 21st, 2020. Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey (which include the Discovery Tours) are also available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia (Odyssey only). If you need more Stay at Home fun, Square Enix has been rolling out offers too.
