Granblue Fantasy Relink

Cygames’ long-in-development 3D action-RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink is coming to PCs and PlayStation consoles in 2022. Cygames released a new teaser trailer for the game at the 2021 Granblue Fantasy Festival event. This is the first significant update about the game’s progress in nearly a year, when Cygames released a look at the game during the 2020 Festival.

The Granblue Fantasy Relink trailer shows off a mix of cutscenes and combat. According to commentary during the Festival reveal, it uses the finalized look of the game. Both Gran and Djeeta (the male and female avatars of the player character in Granblue Fantasy) are in action, alongside other members of their crew. Lyria, Vyrn, Katalina, Rackam, Eugen, Io, and Rosetta are all present. The developers also mentioned that other characters, such as Charlotta and Yodarha, will be playable. Previous trailers showed off gameplay featuring the Dragon Knights: Lancelot, Percival, Vane, and Siegfried.

The game takes place in the Zegagrande Skydom, a region in Granblue Fantasy‘s Sky World setting. Gran/Djeeta and the crew are investigating mysterious incidents within the skydom. They’ll meet, among others, a new character named Rolan. Voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya (who also voices Levi from Attack on Titan), Rolan is described as a vicar for the local church. He provides support for the crew. Gran and Djeeta also don new costumes at some point in the game. The updated designs display prominently in the promotional art and the Granblue Fantasy Relink official website. The game will have two modes: Main Story, which is a single-player narrative adventure, and Quest Mode. Quest Mode is a four-player cooperative multiplayer mode, though it also supports solo play and the use of AI allies in place of online friends. Its content is unlocked by Main Story progress.

Granblue Fantasy Relink is in development and scheduled for worldwide release in 2022 on the PS4, PS5, and PC. Granblue Fantasy is immediately available on PC and mobile, and the fighting game spinoff Granblue Fantasy Versus is available on PS4 and PC.
