Arc System Works released the first two Guilty Gear -Strive- starter guide videos that show how to play Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske.
The starter guide videos give us a basic understanding of the characters ahead of the Guilty Gear -Strive- closed beta test that starts later this week. Check out the starter guide videos for Sol and Ky below:
Sol is a character with great anti-air and rushdown moves. He’s best at close-ranged combat and has moves that help him close the gap against his opponents. He can also use moves like his Gun Flame projectiles to halt mid-range movements and create openings. He can also give it a “feint” to trick opponents. Volcanic Viper is a great anti-air move as well as a useful move to get out of tough positions, as the move is invisible.
He has several other moves that help him close in on rivals like Bandit Bringer, Night Raid Vortex, and Fafnir. Overall, Sol is an offensive character who can easily pressure opponents by busting out special moves one after the other.
Next up, Ky Kiske the all-rounder with projectiles and anti-air moves. He’s easy to use so he’s recommended for beginners. When opponents come into contact with certain moves of Ky, they go into a “Shock State”. Hitting opponents in Shock State with Ky’s special moves will strengthen its properties, making it easier to go on the offensive. His projectile moves Stun Edge and Stun Edge Charge Attack are good moves to start, as they put opponents in Shock State even if they block it.
Ky also has some useful moves that help him close in on opponents. Stun Dipper is useful for sliding under high attacks and landing a low hit with a possible follow-up attack. While it might not be a Greet Sever, the Foudre Arc allows him to leap into the air to deliver a flying kick. You can use it to dodge enemy attacks or simply a good close-ranged move with its low recovery rate.
Guilty Gear -Strive- will release for the PlayStation 4 in late 2020. The closed beta test keys have been going out but the test will take place from April 16 to April 19, 2020. Check out the latest trailer that revealed Millia Rage and Zato-1 in our previous report.
