How to Find Brewster in Animal Crossing: New Horizons ACNH

Brewster returned to Animal Crossing: New Horizons with its 2.0 update. However, you don’t actually immediately have the barista right away. Also, the museum doesn’t immediately offer the cafe. Rather, you first need to go through a few steps to meet and convince Brewster to head to your island.

1. Talk to Blathers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons to learn about Brewster.

The first thing you need to do after downloading the 2.0 update is head to the museum. Speak to Blathers once you get inside. Rather than immediately ask if you’d like to donate, he’ll discuss plans for the museum. Namely, he’ll say he’d like to open a coffee shop. He’ll note that he isn’t sure exactly where Brewster is. However, he has an idea.

Blathers will remark upon Brewster’s love of gyroids. He’ll also remind people that you find gyroid fragments on Kapp’n’s boat tours to random islands.

2. Go on one of Kapp’n’s boat tours.

After talking to Blathers, head to your dock to go on a trip with Kapp’n. This will cost 1,000 Nook Miles. Also, you’ll find Kapp’n at the pier that is either on the the Southeast or Southwest beach on your island.

In my case, the first island I visited after speaking with Blathers had Brewster on it. If you didn’t already gone on boat tour before, he could be on the very first island Kapp’n takes you to. However, you do have to speak with Blathers first to make him appear.

Once you find Brewster, talk with him. He’ll ask you if you’re there for gyroids. Tell him you’re looking for him. You’ll then pass along Blathers’ request. He’ll agree to head out and give you a gyroid fragment.

3. Talk to Blathers again.

The last step involves being patient. After getting back from Kapp’n’s boat tour and meeting Brewster, go to the museum again. Once inside, talk to Blathers. Let him know you found Brewster. Blathers will then announce renovations. This means the day after you talk to him, the museum will be closed. The day after that, it will reopen with Brewster’s cafe available.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available for the Nintendo Switch.
