Identity V Gets Crossover With Fatal Frame 2

NetEase announced a new upcoming crossover between its asymmetrical PvP game Identity V and the classic horror game Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly. Two costumes will be available in the shop starting on November 24, 2022. Players will be able to get outfits of Sae Kurosawa and Mio Amakura.

Geisha will get the Sae Kurosawa skin, and Perfumer will have the Mio Amakura skin. This is likely due to lore reasons, as Geisha is the spirit of a deceased Japanese female, similar to the ghosts you encounter in Fatal Frame. Twins are a key part of the story in Fatal Frame 2, and Perfumer’s backstory deals with her complex surrounding her twin sister.

When wearing the Mio Amakura outfit, Perfumer’s Euphoria effect will change to resemble camera lens. This is a reference to the Camera Obscura, which is your only weapon in the Fatal Frame series. As for Geisha, a red butterfly appears on her face when she is in her Prajna form.

Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly is a survival horror game that originally came out for the PS2 in 2003. The story follows twin sisters Mio and Mayu Amakura. After Mayu follows a crimson butterfly into an abandoned village that is full of spirits, Mio must try to guide them out. As they do so, they uncover the village’s bloody past.

Identity V is readily available on Windows PC and mobile devices. The Bungou Stray Dogs event is currently underway. Players can get a free Ranpo Edogawa skin for Painter, as well as purchase the Atsushi skin for Mercenary and Dazai skin for “Prisoner.”
