Due to the current state of the world, there haven’t been the sorts of events to showcase games. For example, E3 2020 was canceled and GDC 2020 Summer’s postponement. Microsoft is still preparing its big showcases, but has announced a series of ID@Xbox Summer Spotlight Series videos. Each one looks at notable indie games like Super Meat Boy Forever, Skatebird, Carrion, and Knight Squad 2 that are heading to the Xbox One in the near future. In addition, it reminded people that Xbox Series X backwards compatibility is totally a thing.
The first video of the six released is seven minutes long and looks at the most game out of the group. People get to see peeks at Skatebird, Spellbreak, The Falconeer, The Forgotten City, Trash Sailors, Call of the Sea, Dead Static Drive, and Welcome to Elk.
The second video takes just over five minutes to look at Carrion, Ary and the Secret of Seasons, Atrio: The Dark Wild, Black Book, and No Straight Roads.
Video number three is almost six minutes long, and it lets people see what Everspace 2, Foregone, Going Under, Hitchhiker: A Mystery Game, and Paradise Lost are like.
The fourth video is a five minute look at Scourgebringer, Phogs, Psikodelya, Sail Forth, and Super Meat Boy Forever.
The fifth is another five minute take on The Ascent, Cake Bash, The Riftbreaker, The Universim, and Cyber Shadow.
Finally, the last video spends six minutes with Knight Squad 2, Boomerang Fu, Voidtrain, Wintermoor Tactics Club, Xuan Yuan Sword VII, and Backbone.
