Jump Rope Challenge Costumes Pull From Iconic Nintendo Series

Jump Rope Challenge, a free Nintendo Switch game created by developers working from home during the pandemic, has proven to be quite a popular freebie. The game uses motion controls and the Joy-cons to have people jump rope in place. It took only three days for people to pass 200,000,000 jumps, and now Nintendo is making it even more enticing with Jump Rope Challenge costumes and backgrounds. All someone needs to do is grab the free update to add the new content.

Nintendo announced the update on Twitter on July 1, 2020. The new looks for the rabbit should look familiar, as each outfit is inspired by another Nintendo game or application. It also confirmed that the double-under ability and new backgrounds will appear as you play.

For those who want to keep track, here are the series and characters represented in the video clip above:

  • Animal Crossing: Isabelle
  • The Legend of Zelda: Link
  • Metroid: Samus
  • Nintendo Badge Arcade: Arcade Bunny
  • Splatoon: Inkling Boy and Girl
  • Super Mario: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Bowser, and Wario

Jump Rope Challenge is available for the Nintendo Switch and will be free until September 2020. The free update with new Jump Rope Challenge costumes and backgrounds is out now.
