Update 9/22: The big bad date has come and most retailers are showing the higher $59.99. There are a few holdouts though, and prices are updated below.
It’s the last chance to renew our PlayStation Plus memberships before we have to fork over an extra ten bucks to Sony. Gone are the days we could brag it was at least cheaper than Xbox Live… well, almost gone that is. On Thursday, September 22 the price change is happening but there’s at least one last chance to get the 1-year membership for under $50.
Within 2 days of Sony announcing the price increase, all PlayStation Plus discounts under $50 dried up on the internet. Take your pick pretty much at which retailer you want to buy from at $49.99. The last holdout appears to be eBay Powerseller NeoGames with a $47.99 price tag. That’s not a huge discount but is the best price online for a physical card with free shipping and no sales tax. Yay?

Other than that, pick your poison. GameStop, Best Buy, and all other major retailers are all shootin’ the same $49.99 price tag until Thursday’s turnover. I think we can safely speculate there will be a discount over the holidays season but at best in the future, we’ll only see drops to the $49.99 we’re seeing today.
