Final Fantasy III — uh, Final Fantasy VI, is now available on Steam as it arrives to the PC platform earlier today. With it Square Enix is offering a launch week sale of 10% off until December 23rd. But why pay $14.39 when you can save 23% off and pay $12.32 instead? Just use coupon code 23PERC-WTHGMG-ADVENT during checkout and you’ll cut $3.67 off the final price.
This is of course the same Steam version, and GMG’s source is straight from Square Enix. Gamers still unfamiliar with GMG (its good and bad) should know that ~20% discount are typical for the digital retailer, though occasionally the coupons will not work on newly released titles.
Reviews thus far for the game seems positive from users, though if you’re unsure on the port quality, you may want to wait on more reviews (the GMG 23% off coupon will last until December 18). Reported highest resolution is 1360×768, with additional feature such as auto-battle thrown in for good measure.
If you’re not in a hurry to pick up the game, you should expect it to hit 50% off in about 3 months time, which is pretty typical for a Square Enix port at this price range.
FYI: The thumb for this post is a print from Red Bubble. Probably my most memorable intro moment in a video game.
