Spike Chunsoft has newly confirmed that the Made in Abyss RPG’s gameplay will also feature an original storyline. The player-created protagonist will be a novice Cave Raider who enters the Abyss days after Riko and Reg departed first.

Made in Abyss Binary Star Falling into Darkness - Character Creation mode

The character creator mode for the Made in Abyss RPG will let players choose from various face types and hairstyles. It will also let them modify the color of their characters hair, skin, and outfit. Players can also set the right and left eye colors separately to create a character with heterochromia. After progressing enough in the new storyline, the player’s avatar will eventually get to interact with Riko and Reg.

Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness will appear worldwide on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2022. Spike Chunsoft will make sure the game’s visuals will stay true to the original manga and anime’s gory nature. The action RPG will release with a CERO Z rating in Japan.
