The official homepage for Nintendo Pictures is separate from Nintendo’s main website and features a message to fans at the beginning of the page. The message states, first and foremost, that Nintendo owns a 100% stake in Nintendo Pictures. Additionally, it states that the video production company’s goal is to not only showcase Nintendo characters to a wide audience but also continue creating these works “across generations”.

Notably, the website also reveals that the production company was founded in 2011. That’s because Nintendo Pictures was formerly Dynamo Pictures, which Nintendo purchased back in July 2022. The animation company previously worked on other media such as Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, and Final Fantasy XV. As such, the company’s listed services include motion capture recording.

It’s important to note that, while Nintendo Pictures does list itself as a video production company, this is not specific to film production. As such, it’s unclear whether Nintendo Pictures will be part of production for the upcoming Mario film or other planned movies.
