Noby Noby Boy’s GIRL Has Reached The Sun

Noby Noby Boy is one of Keita Takahashi’s unusual games. People played as a character named BOY, stretching him around objects. The distance passed by all people was added together to send another character, GIRL, around the solar system. Six years after its 2009 release, Noby Noby Boy’s GIRL has come back to Earth.

Last month, GIRL reached a major milestone. Thanks to everyone’s time spent playing, she finally circled Pluto. It took 2,468 days. To help speed up progress and get people to the end, Bandai Namco applied a 2,000,015x multiplayer to help her reach the Sun, then get back to Earth. This means it took 2,489 days for her to connect every planet.

As a reward for helping GIRL complete her journey, Noby Noby Boy players were presented with a special closing sequence. Sir Tap Tap captured footage of the event and placed it on YouTube. It celebrated the feat with a letter from BOY, GIRL, the Fairy, and the Sun. This triggered the official “end” of the game, though it is still possible to play.

Noby Noby Boy was originally released on the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 3 on February 19, 2009 and was followed by an Apple iOS port on February 18, 2010. It was pulled from Apple’s App Store on March 30, 2015, but is still available for the console for $4.99.
