Orchestral SaGa shifts to online-only worldwide concert

Orchestral SaGa Tokyo Concert Will Shift To Online-Only Streaming

Square Enix announced that it canceled the physical Orchestral SaGa concert due to Japan’s state of emergency. It was originally set to occur at Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Tokyo on July 31, 2021, and August 1, 2021. The organizer will instead shift to an online-only audience. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

Tickets for the online concert will be available on ZAIKO from July 20, 2021, to August 8, 2021. The online shift brought a silver lining, as the tickets will become available for purchase outside Japan. After buying a ticket priced at 3,500 yen (~$32), viewers will be able to catch the live stream on July 31, 2021, at 18:00 JST (5 AM ET).

Those who have purchased the ticket but missed the live concert can still watch an archived version of the stream. The archive will be available to watch multiple times until it is taken down on August 8, 2021. The organizer strictly prohibits sharing any images or recordings from the concert.

Square Enix also previously did a similar thing with the SaGa Orchestra Fes concert set to occur in Osaka in June 2021. It was supposed to be a repeat performance of the concert originally held in Tokyo in February 2020. While the company canceled the physical show, it also made the shift to online streaming.

The Orchestral SaGa concert will take place online on July 31, 2021. It will feature performances of music from various SaGa titles, from The Final Fantasy Legend to Romancing SaGa Re;univerSe. Square Enix will also release a CD of the concert on July 28, 2021.
