Overwatch 2 was announced during BlizzCon 2019. The reveal was kicked off with an announcement showing some of the people who will be returning to the team. An eight minute video gives people an idea of what to expect. It will still be a team 6v6 competitive game. Also, it will bring Echo and Sojourn to the fight.

A new trailer was shared during BlizzCon 2019. It begins with Mei, Tracer, and Winston heading to Paris. A Null Sector attack is going on, and they appear to be the only three members of Overwatch heading on this mission. However, a huge robot attacks, injuring Mei. With things looking bleak, Winston agrees to stay behind and hold the line while Tracer gets her to safety. That’s when Genji shows up to save the day, as do other heroes like Reinhardt, Brigitte, Echo, and Mercy.
