There will be new scratch tickets that will reward players with entirely new themed cosmetics. The Sonic collaboration event will begin on September 1, 2021 and last until September 29, 2021.

The Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration will add a plethora of Sonic inspired items in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, which includes Sonic and Tails emotes and stickers. Other collaboration items includes a Tails cosmetic that will attach itself to the backs of players and rotate while flying. Another item is an MTN: Dash item that imitates Sonic’s spin-dash.

More than a handful of cosmetics will also appear in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis with the Oracle Renewal Collection III Silhouette of Darkness and Moonlight of Sanctuary scratch tickets. This will be the first time the Oracle Renewal Collection items will be available outside of Japan. Images of these new cosmetics were revealed during the broadcast. An archived version is available to watch through the official YouTube channel.

An Autumn Event will also take place during the September 2021. This will also change several of the environments in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis for a limited time. Xiandy will also reappear during this period. The event will appear in two parts, with event enemies appearing on the field. They will be designated with a special marker.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is immediately available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC in Japan. The Xbox One and PC will serve as global platforms for the MMORPG.
