Update: Deal is now expired at Groupon as they’ve sold out (unsurprisingly). Next best deal in on eBay at about $48.74.
If there’s one thing we love about Groupon, its their random console deals that crop up from time to time. Last night was one such event where we spotted PlayStation Plus 1 Year membership for $44.99. This is one of the lowest price we’ve seen for the cards since its price bump last year September.
Priced at $44.99, the membership is 25% off until the deal expires tomorrow night on February 10, 2017. Over 5,000 units have been purchased and the pace is going strong. To be frank, we doubt stock will last through tomorrow night base on past sale when the PS Plus gets a sizable discount (typical sale price is 10% to 15% off).
Note that unlike other Groupon goods, all sales are final and no returns are accepted unless defective (re: your card code doesn’t work). Residents of Alaska and Hawaii along with Puerto Rico are again out of luck, which is unfortunate because we can’t image shipping a card cost that much more even if its across the ocean.
Finally, for those wondering… yes, PlayStation Plus membership are stackable. You can load ’em up through the years or if you already have a membership that’s about to expire. While we doubt another price hike is in the foreseeable future, we do know that discount on PlayStation Plus is becoming much more rare now that the list price is at $60.
