The Pokemon Company announced sales for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl remake games surpassed 6 million units worldwide. Additionally, the company noted that these sales came within its first week of release. In November 2021, Famitsu revealed that estimated sales for the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes had reached 1.3 million units in Japan alone. This number also only accounted for physical sales of the title. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are remakes of the original titles. Graphics for the game have been complete recreated in 3D. Additionally, music for the remakes ended up remastered. However, the game released with several bugs. This included a bug which prevented players from progressing under specific circumstances. This, however, is something since fixed through an update patch.
Additionally, Famitsu revealed that reservations for upcoming Pokemon title, Pokemon Legends Arceus, dominated the Amazon Japan pre-order charts. The title has placed number one as the most reserved game through the storefront for three weeks in a row. This entry in the series changes up the standard Pokemon formula, and will allow players to seamlessly transition into battle with Pokemon on the field.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are immediately available for the Nintendo Switch.
