A new special expansion is coming to the Pokemon Trading Card Game. Called Pokemon TCG: Crown Zenith, the expansion is based on Pokemon Sword & Shield. It arrives on shelves worldwide on January 20, 2023. The expansion will contain over 160 cards. It will focus on alternate art cards, with a number of new art styles and unique illustrations. Among them is the first-ever special art Pokemon VSTAR.
In addition to the new cards, Pokemon TCG: Crown Zenith will add a new subset of 70 cards called the “Galarian Gallery”. The gallery will showcase regular Pokemon, Pokemon V, Pokemon VMAX, Pokemon VSTAR, and Supporter cards with new special illustrations. The illustrations will highlight the uniqueness of the featured Pokemon and various other characters. For example, the Galarian Gallery will contain cards like Mewtwo VSTAR, Darkrai VSTAR, and Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR.
Additionally, the Galarian Gallery will debut linked illustrations. Nine different cards’ art will each feature part of a larger-format illustration. Players can collect them all to assemble the bigger picture.
Overall the Pokemon TCG: Crown Zenith expansion will have 17 Pokemon V cards, 5 Pokemon VMAX cards, 8 Pokemon VSTAR cards (including Zacian VSTAR and Zamazenta VSTAR), and three Radiant Pokemon cards: Shiny Charizard, Shiny Charjabug, and Shiny Eternatus.

- The Crown Zenith Elite Trainer box contains 10 booster packs, gameplay accessories, and a special art card: Lucario VSTAR
- The Crown Zenith Collection contains 4 booster packs, a promo card, a oversize Regieleki V or Regidrago V card, and a non-V foil promo card.
- The Crown Zenith Mini Tins contain two booster packs and a sticker sheet.
- The Crown Zenith Tins include five booster packs and a full art promo card of Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, or Galarian Moltres.
