First, the new playable Pokemon Unite character Tsareena will be temporarily free. People who log in before December 31, 2021 will get their Unite License. This will be permanently yours and let you use them in battles.

The next addition is the Holiday event. That will run December 15, 2021 to January 16, 2022. As part of it, there will be special matches, customization items for Pokemon and trainers, Challenge missions, and Shivre City Quick Battle Snowball Battle. You can complete challenge and daily missions to light up trees in the hub. The lights also get you fashion items and 1-Day Limited Licenses for Alolan Ninetails. The Snowball Battle will feature Articuno in the central area and Delibirds to defeat for temporary one-use battle items. Also, in that mode defeated Pokemon turn into temporary snowpeople.

More parts of the Pokemon Unite Holiday event start after December 24, 2021. There will be a login event with rewards until January 1, 2022. You can also participate in a Photo Challenge. If you go through standard, ranked, quick battles, and Snowball Battles, you’ll get snowflakes. Those can be used for images. That will be around until January 6, 2022. Finally, January 1-3, 2022, every Pokemon in-game can be used by every player.
