Update 2/1: There’s a new 25% off code for Rise of the Tomb Raider at GMG. If you order before 10AM Pacific on release date, you can also get all the pre-order bonuses mentioned below.
Thursday, January 28th marks the official release of Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC. Despite a 3-month delay from the Xbox One timed-exclusive, the game is starting at the standard $59.99 we usually see for an AAA release. Strangely because of its Xbox One exclusitivity, the game just doesn’t feel like a “big title” (given it’ll be missing in one of the largest gaming platform out there). Of course, for PC gamers familiar with buying digital, you’re certainly not expecting to pay full price.

GMG is leading the pack with a straight-up 25% discount. As an authorized Square Enix retailer, GMG’s discount includes the pre-order bonus “Remnant Resistance Pack” which gets several in-game items and skins. For newcomers to the reboot Tomb Raider series, you’re also in-luck as pre-ordering at GMG will include for free a Steam copy of 2013’s Tomb Raider.
Interestingly enough, while the other online retailer options are solid, none of them are offering the pre-order bonus mentioned above (which is of course also at Steam’s Store). If you don’t care for the pre-order bonus offer or a free copy of Tomb Raider, GamesPlanet’s deal is actually the best bang for the buck regardless of the region you’re in. At £29.99 British pounds, that translates to about $42.50 USD, which beats out GMG’s $45 price above.
