eStream’s figure brand Shibuya Scramble Figure announced a new 1/7 scale Asuna figure inspired by Sword Art Online Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night. The Asuna Crystal Dress figure will be available for preorder from December 23, 2021 until March 10, 2022. The figure will cost Â¥38,500 (around $337) and does not yet have a shipping date. Sword Art Online Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night was released in Japan in October 2021. It was screened in theaters across the United States and Canada on December 3, 2021, and in Australia and New Zealand on December 9, 2021. In November, it was announced that a sequel to the film will premiere in 2022, titled Sword Art Online Progressive: Scherzo of a Dark Dusk. This second film will adapt the fourth volume of the light novel series.
Originally published as a series of light novels by original SAO creator Reki Kawahara, Sword Art Online Progressive focuses on Kirito and Asuna as they aim to clear the lower floors of Aincrad in the early days of the game. This ‘reboot’ series began in 2012, and all eight volumes are currently available in English through Yen Press.
The Asuna Crystal Dress figure will be available to preorder from December 23, 2021 until March 10, 2022.
