Shohei Ohtani Got a Yu-Gi-Oh Card of His Dog Decoy

LA Dodgers player Shohei Ohtani shared a video on Instagram of a Yu-Gi-Oh card of his dog Decoy made by Konami. The card refers to him by the nickname Dekopin, and it is framed alongside the art used for the card and commemorating the day the dog “threw the first pitch” at a Dodgers game.

At the Dodgers vs Orioles game on August 28, 2024, Decoy appeared as the honored person, or in this case dog, who would throw out the first pitch. He actually had his own jersey for the occasion and ran the ball to Ohtani. Here’s a video of that moment from ESPN MLB.

As for the Dekopin Yu-Gi-Oh card that Shohei Ohtani showed off, it suggests Decoy the dog is a Light type card and beast unit. In-game, his attack would be 50 and defense would be 50. In the showcase of images and videos, there’s also a new photo of the dog.

You can see that full Yu-Gi-Oh Dekopin post below with photos of Decoy the dog and his card.
