In a follow-up tweet to the sales figures milestone announcement, Sega reminded people that there will be new content for Sonic Frontiers in 2023. As such, sales for the game will likely continue to grow as more content becomes available for players. Sega unveiled the road map for new version updates and DLC in late November 2022. All of the updates will be free, and will feature new additions to the game such as a photo mode and challenge modes. You will also be able to play as Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose.

Sonic Frontiers had a fairly mixed reception, despite its strong sales. Morio Kishimoto, the director of the game, sent out a tweet shortly after the game’s launch in regards to critic and fan response. He stated that there is still a long way for him to go, and that he is taking it very seriously as a playtest on a global scale. You can read our review of Sonic Frontiers here.
